Words of Essence

I do not need the poets of old
to tell me about life
I do like there work, needless to say
Alfred, Henry, Walt and the like
As they filled my life with essence then
I find my own words today

Anchored in my experience
I can fully comprehend
The meaning of life’s essence
And that for which I am meant

My senses the embodiment of life
Of all that can be
Heard, felt, touched and loved
Enabling my soul to see
Beyond the realm of humanity

My body tells the tale
Of mine and my ancestors’ quest
To love more deeply
And put old hurts to rest

I walk into nature
Feeling Earths presence near
Within the realm of Nature Spirits
Her words are specific and clear

Know me
And you will know yourself
Love me
And you will love yourself
Hurt me
And you will hurt yourself
Disown me
And you will disown yourself

I am not yours to have
I am not yours to take
I will outlive your presence
I don't live for your sake

Still I want you to walk my skin
For I hold you dear
So, I ask you urgently
To live beyond your fear

Reconnect with nature
Reconnect with life
Take care of your future
Be clear for which you strive

Meet me 
At the core of your being
there where the old poets dwell
For they knew to find me 
And some knew me well
	
Join us in the sacred space
Where all answers lay
For there you shall be granted

For you to convey
